Hey From Kris. December Tip
For years, partials have been made using metal. The metals and equipment used to cast partials have improved over the years, but there haven’t been any real changes in materials. However, thermoplastics have become a popular alternative to metal. One such thermoplastic material is DurAcetal and it has many advantages over metal. A framework processed with DurAcetal (CDM Dental) is stable, metal free, lightweight, comfortable, cosmetic and biocompatible. Also, you can process it using less expensive equipment than traditional metal casting.
CDM Dental’s DurAcetal thermoplastic material produces durable, lightweight, comfortable, cosmetic and biocompatible partial frameworks. Also ideal for unilaterals, clasps, niteguards and fixed temporaries.
One problem I have as a Dental laboratory owner is talking to my accounts about all the options that Duracetal offers. Don’t get me wrought having options is always great but you need to be able to describe those option to the Dentist without confusing them.
The options are numerous for instances all tooth colored frames, pink frame with tooth colored clasps, pink frame with clear clasps and on and on. The best way to do that is with pictures and best of all samples. Spend the time to make good samples with all the variations that you are going to make available. Then if the Dentists have questions about how to design a case you can show him the options. You will find pictures of different variations of cases here (Nadia place picture where ever it works).
